As previously reported, the Les Toules Gallery on the A21 Great St. Bernard route was closed due to an avalanche and the resulting rockfall hazard. This closure is now a thing of the past. The damage repair measures have been completed, and rock stabilization and clearing work has also taken place. Since Saturday (April 26, 2025), the A21 is once again open to vehicular traffic. However, please note that traffic on the affected section is currently limited to a single lane and controlled alternately by traffic lights.
To ensure that the risk of further rockfall has been mitigated for now, additional work and monitoring are ongoing. Should any safety-relevant rock movements occur or increased avalanche danger be detected, the A21 will be closed immediately. Therefore, please check before your journey whether the A21 is still passable and if any new rockfalls have occurred.
